Move With Me
By-Amanda D. Petty
Getting that feeling again.
Don’t know what to do.
Feeling a fast beat.
Seeing my foot moving; then my legs.
Now, I’m dancing.
Hearing that you want to dance with me.
Thinking, ‘Why on earth does he wanna be my partner?’
I hesitated to say yes.
But, I did.
You wanted to know more,
More than my moves.
I was thinking, why?
I was scared at first to learn your timing.
You said, “Don’t be afraid.”
Somehow, you eased my mind and I could dance.
“Move with me.” You said.
I kindly took your hand.
We were dancing as one on the dance floor.
